Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) can serve as the Speaker at Speaker Programs (Professional or Community Programs):
1. Present Promotional Review Committee (PRC)-approved slides during speaker training, if requested;
2. MSLs may not answer any off-label questions if they are attending speaker training. Commercial or Medical may submit a MIRF for follow-up, if necessary
MSL Attendance at Speaker Programs:
1. MSLs generally can attend other's Speaker Programs to evaluate speaker and content as part of their responsibilities. Other Commercial personnel also generally can attend programs so long as it is to gain medical and scientific knowledge, assist with hosting responsibilities, or fulfill compliance monitoring requirements.
Speaker Training:
1. MSLs may train Speakers in the field, if requested;
2. MSLs may not answer any off-label questions if they are providing speaker training in the field. Commercial or Medical may submit a MIRF for follow-up, if necessary.
Speaker Selection:
1. MSLs may identify HCPs with the appropriate level of expertise to serve as a Speaker or advisor and participate in the speaker/advisor nomination and evaluation process;
Speaker Program Content:
1. MSLs may review non-product-related slides created by Speakers in accordance with the BCM requirements
2. MSLs may provide subject matter expertise in review committees that review slides to be presented at speaker training sessions or joint Advisory Boards
